Launching today, DykePage is possibly the most interactive site on the net for lesbian and bisexual women, offering not just the usual profile building and search functions, but capacity to comment on articles, upload news, stories and even recipes, and also embed video and audio.

The DykePage discussion forums have been fully loaded with scintillating discussion topics, ranging from career/professional, to personal/social, and even including "Ask Aunt Alice".

Site owner Naomi de Plume says that she intends DykePage to be comprehensively responsive to member needs, and is relying on members to give feedback on initial features, as well as ask for more.

Ms de Plume explained the reason for the development of DykePage by saying that her own experience with internet dating sites for queer women had been a case of high fees and little value.  Whilst the news and social networking sites were doing an excellent job, she felt that the dating sites offered too little interactivity and opportunity for engagement, and that the expense was a turn-off for many women. 

In addition, her own unpleasant experience with a popular online dating service made her determined to build an environment which was safe and supportive for all its members, and did not allow personal attack.

Explaining the low $25 annual fee, Ms de Plume said "I wanted a fee that was low enough to make the site accessible to all women, but was high enough to completely repel the nuisance factor, and at the same time help build a sense of ownership and responsibility amongst our members.  So far the feedback has been ecstatic, so I hope I've hit the right note."

DykePage looks certain to grow rapidly, with its exciting user-friendly features, affordability, and commitment to building a safe and supportive community for its members.
